Store bought energy and protein bars are all the rage right now. While some of them may not be all that bad, it’s definitely best to make your own when you can. With a recipe this quick and easy, there is really no reason not to. This recipe originally came from the Dr. Oz Show
No Bake Energy Bars:
1 cup quick cook oats or old fashion oats (uncooked)
1/3 cup chopped dried apricots (or dried fruit of your choice)
1/2 cup almond butter
3 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon vanilla
I added about 1/4 cup of chocolate chips because I’m naughty!
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Spread the mixture in a pan and refrigerate for 2 hours. Slice them up and enjoy!
I store the bars in a container the freezer but the fridge should be fine. I just like them really cold.
It’s always great to know what you’re putting into your body. Making your own food whenever possible is the best way to do that! OMG OBSESSED!
