Happy National Ice Cream Day! I absolutely LOVE ice cream. All kinds. I could eat ice cream all day, every day. Last night, I was watching an episode of The Food Network’sUnwrappedMarc Summers and featured was my biggest guilty ice cream pleasure: Dippin’ Dots! I am OBSESSED OBSESSED OBSESSED with Dippin’ Dots!
This “Ice Cream of the future” was introduced to us in 1998 by Curt Jones (an angel in my book!) a Southern Illinois University Carbondale graduate. He used cryogenic encapsulation (really, really freezing temps) to create these tiny beads of deliciousness. Liquid nitrogen is involved. Enough said!
