I wanted to wait to share my hard core OBSESSION with Showtime’s “Weeds” until the season 6 premiere in August.  But, like the true Obsessionista that I am, there was no way I could possibly wait all the way until AUGUST!  And though, it saddens me that we have to wait soooo long until new episodes, this is a great thing for some of you.  This gives those of you who are not yet obsessed with this fascinating, tantalizing television show to get obsessed with it!  I have to say that I am truly envious of all those who have never seen the show.  The feeling of watching it for the first time is sublime.  My husband and I marathoned it a few years ago and it was AWESOME!  I have recently re-watched the first season and every time I hear the theme song, it so fondly brings me back to that time.  What a fantastic series!

These are some of the most well developed, complex and far out, yet real characters on television.  SNL’s Kevin Nealon, who plays pot smoking, smart-ass, councilman Doug Wilson and his sidekick/partner in crime Dean Hodes (Andy Milder) keep us in stitches episode after episode with their witty randomness and silly situations.  Justin Kirk blesses the show with his presence a few episodes into the first season bringing with him his fast talking persona and skewed ideas along with a completely endearing and adorable portrayal of Uncle Andy Botwin to growing boys Shane (Alexander Gould) and Silas Botwin (Hunter Parrish). Celia Hodes (Elizabeth Perkins) and daughter Isabelle Hodes (Allie Grant) humorously escort us into the wonderful world of the oh so common mother/daughter love/hate… or should I say hate/hate relationship.  And last but not least, the situations that TV’s sexiest mom, small time drug dealing Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker) get’s herself into is the reason wide eyed viewers continue to tune in week after week, season after season.

So, if you have not seen this show, yet, I urge you to run to the video store, or load the first 5 seasons into your Netflix instant Queue and watch them.  You will thank me!
