Happy Fashion Friday!!!  Today’s FF is super casual.  Denim shorts are a summer MUST HAVE!  I could live in denim shorts, a t-shirt and flip flops all summer long!  It is a great look for anyone.  Pulling on a pair of denim shorts is like stepping one leg at a time into a young and youthful new you!  It feels wonderful… but there are a few things to watch out for.  Fit is SO IMPORTANT.  Make sure that they fit nicely around your hips.  Don’t try to fit into that size 2 just because you want to be a size 2!  When clothing fits correctly, it makes you look THINNER!  Nobody likes to see a muffin top!  Another crucial thing to pay attention to when picking out a pair of shorts is length.  Daisy Dukes are not easy to pull off… or to pull on for that matter!  Butt cheeks should be covered COMPLETELY! There are about a million different washes to choose from, from white all the way to the darkest navy that you can imagine.  I prefer a dark wash with a little of a distressed, lived in look.  But a nice crispy white can look so clean and the contrast of white against tan or darker skin tones is jaw dropping.

Denim shorts are also another one of those really versatile pieces that can be dressed up or down depending on your accessories. Check out Beyonce who added a pink tweed blazer and some beaded necklaces with some killer stilettos to her shorts while just above her Victoria Beckham is keeping it casual with a tank top and flip flops.  I think my favorite look might have to be Gossip Girls‘ Leighton Meester, on the beach, rocking the one shoulder t-shirt with her faded denim shorts.
